Jebel Ali Racecourse was built in 1990 following specifications from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dhruba Selvaratnam. There is currently seating for over 2000 people and facilities to accommodate corporate hospitality guests. The surface of the track is a mixture of sand and oil and horseshoe in shape.
