Professional jockey for sixteen seasons before starting as a reporter/presenter on the Racing Channel in 1998. Joined BBC radio five live as their breakfast reporter in 2001. Started working for the Attheraces channel in 2003 as a presenter. Currently working for Radio Five Live and Attheraces.

Amassed over 250 winners including success at the Cheltenham Festival aboard Taberna Lord in the Coral Golden Hurdle final, One More Night at Aintree and Cool Ground in the Welsh National and Peter Cazlet/Anthony Mildmay memorial chase. Also finished fourth on Cool Ground in the Cheltenham Gold Cup behind Desert Orchid. Best horses ridden Katabatic, Cool Ground and Rhubahunish
